The America's Cup has held a fascination for all, even those who do not follow sailing. We will discuss the prizes for this regatta at another posting. This trophy created by Pearpoint in the last quarter of the nineteenth century is an accurate rendition of the yacht America, after which the now famous races are named. The yacht is free of the base which replicates the sea. It is placed in a manner to show the boat heeling in a breeze. It measures 24" x 12" x 20" tall.
